Greece's Recovery Plan Will Invest 10 Billion Euros in Clean Energy

The Greek government announced its economic recovery plan after the new crown pandemic. This strategy aims to raise at least 10 billion Euros for the green energy industry and is expected to receive further loans from the European Union.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis outlined a national economic recovery plan aimed at transforming the "national economic and institutional model" through modernization.

The economic recovery strategy of Greece following the epidemic follows the principles of the EU Recovery Fund agreed in July last year, and is based on the reform guidelines proposed by the Mitsotakis government since its election in July 2019. The resulting policies include an energy and climate plan for 2030—a plan to phase out coal by 2028 at the latest and to launch a new digital renewable energy licensing system.
