Apple Salitun (Beijing) will run on 100% renewable energy — a portion provided from its own rooftop solar array.
Recently, Apple Retail Store opened its new store in Beijing Sanlitun. The new store has attracted a lot of attention for its design style about environmental protection and chinoiserie. Apple CEO Tim Cook also said on Weibo: Apple Salitun (Beijing) will run on 100% renewable energy — a portion provided from its own rooftop solar array.
This is also the first time that Apple has attempted to equip its retail stores in China with integrated solar arrays.
This solar array will supply power to the retail stores below, so that they will use renewable energy completely like Apple's facilities in all places around the world. Apple also supports various clean energy projects in China, which can supply electricity to more than 450,000 households every year.
Except in China, photovoltaic power generation is widely used all over the world. Multinational enterprises take the lead in installing photovoltaics, which not only promotes clean energy, but also proves the economy of photovoltaics.
